At 64, James Sizemore was living a full, active life in Clackamas, Oregon. A dedicated welder and fabricator for nearly five decades, he is known for his craftsmanship and love of the outdoors. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and creating memories with his two adult children and three young grandchildren. Whether hosting sleepovers, riding bikes, or sharing movie nights, James is the kind of grandpa who truly lives life to the fullest!
Earlier this year, James began to feel unwell, prompting his son to take him to the emergency room at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. What started as a vague sense of discomfort quickly became life-threatening. James was intubated and transferred to OHSU, where doctors diagnosed him with critical aortic valve stenosis, pulmonary hypertension, and a type of heart attack known as type 2 myocardial infarction. To address these serious conditions, James underwent a TAVR procedure and had an Impella device implanted to support his heart.
